"Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high. Who humbleth himself to behold
the things that are in heaven, and in the earth! He maketh the barren woman to keep house,
and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord." - Psalm 113:5,6,9

Sunday Best

This weekend was a busy one for our family. Bro. Robert Tuck, a pastor friend of Mike and his dad, is in the hospital with congestive heart failure. Friday they visited him in the hospital and were encouraged by his rejoicing in his salvation in the midst of a disheartening circumstance. Mike's dad preached for Bro. Tuck in the morning so this left Mike to fill the pulpit at our church. Mike preached a good message on the Cross from Philippians 2:1-11. After hearing it I asked the Lord to help me remember what God has done for me and to share it with others.
Then at night we traveled 1 1/2 hours to Bro. Tuck's church so that Mike could preach for him. He has a nice church; the people were an encouragement to us. Again, the Lord used Mike's message entitled "But God". May we see God's hand in all that happens in our lives.

Praise the Lord for These Blessings

I just wanted to share a picture with you that a friend of mine took for me last week at church. It seems that everyone that sees Malachi lately comments on how big he is. Mike and I delight in hearing all of the new sounds he likes to make, and he continues to dish out many smiles to anyone who will give him attention. I thank the Lord for giving me a healthy and sweet baby boy.
This past week, I finished a book entitled Passionate Housewives Desperate for God. It points out the dangers and errors of feminism and is a real encouragement to Christian homemakers wanting to serve God by ministering to their families. This is another one of my recommended readings. Thank you, Christina, for lending it to me.
The best news for last: As I was typing the previous paragraph, Mike received a phone call with news of a big answer to prayer. We now have a certificate of occupancy for our new home and we should be able to close on it this month! We were supposed to close last November, but have run into a few snafus. Praise the Lord for this answer to prayer. Many thanks to those who have been praying for us to be able to move into our new home. It seems that the end is now in sight!

God is Good

Last night when Mike got home from work he read a children's book to Malachi. The book, God is Good, was his as a child. I was thrilled to watch this father-son time. Yes, God is so good to us.
"Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations." - Psalm 100:3-5
